Celebration of Life: Greg Eells

We are all devastated at the news of the death of Greg Eells. Our hearts and prayers are with Michelle, Kayla, Cole and Cade. Cornell Daily Sun wrote a good article about Greg’s life and work with the University. To read the article click HERE

A Celebration of Greg Eells’ life will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, followed by a reception at Willard Straight Hall on the Cornell University Campus, from 12:00 to 2:30 pm. Carpooling is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg’s memory may be directed to Family & Children’s Service (127 W. State St., Ithaca, NY 14850) or to Suicide Prevention & Crisis Service (124 E. Court St., Ithaca, NY 14850).   Please do not hesitate to contact Pastor Teressa if you need someone to talk to or sit with as we process this heartbreaking news. Pastor Teressa can be reached at the church office (607-273-5971) or on her cell (607-434-9888). If she does not pick up immediately, please leave a message and she will return your call as soon as possible.

Willard Straight Hall, Cornell University

Childcare: Please note that St. Paul’s will be offering childcare for attendees at the service.

Parking at St. Paul’s: Finding parking in downtown Ithaca, particularly in the St. Paul’s area, can be difficult. Aurora Street, which runs in front of the church, is currently closed due to road construction. We encourage anyone who is able to walk a short distance to the church (4+ blocks), to park in the Seneca Street Garage, located at 215 N. Tioga Street. This will preserve the few parking spaces that are in close proximity to the church for those with mobility challenges.

Parking at the reception – Cornell campus: Following the service, there will be an opportunity to greet the family at a reception in Willard Straight Hall, 136 Ho Plaza, on the Cornell Campus.  Parking is available in the garage, located at 165 Hoy Road. There will be limited shuttle service available to transport guests from the garage to the reception and back.
