Pastor Beckie became our senior pastor and spiritual leader in July of 2021. Having served in pastoral appointments and extension ministry since 1982, Pastor Beckie brings vast experience to her leadership here. Pastor Beckie’s focus in ministry is to connect each person with God in powerful ways, and to connect folks to one another spiritually that we might learn, grow, and serve together with joy. Pastor Beckie attended college in Williamsport, PA at Lycoming College where she received a B.A., majoring in music and religion. Then she attended Drew University Theological School in Madison, NJ where she received a Master of Divinity. Pastor Beckie has a love of camping ministries, justice ministries which encourage inclusivity and equality, and shaping meaningful worship experiences.
When she is not working, Pastor Beckie enjoys walking, boating and fishing, sewing and quilting, and snuggling with her French Angora Rabbit, Jacques. She has three adult children: Paul, who is pastor of Christ UM Church in Troy, NY; Marthalyn, who is a physician assistant; and, Daniel, who will soon complete his master’s degree in Exercise Science. Pastor Beckie’s mother, Marilyn Sweet, joins her in residing in our parsonage.
